Great book. Must have for teachers.

For my masters degree I did an action research report on the success of using CRISS to improve students' metacognition. Well let me tell you after much research and boring tests, I found out that this method works. It is teaching the students how to teach themselves. It is kind of like the saying teach someone to fish... I reccomend it!

I just needed more copies of it for the teachers to use. The leaders of "Project CRISS" require you to become a certified trainer so these books can be owned by the teachers for $50 dollars. This book is a gold mine of theory & practice in assisting our students to OWN these excellent strategies that significantly increase student achievement.

As a middle school teacher I highly recommend this book. The techniques contained are fun and engaging. My students love it when we do the techniques in CRISS. CRISS is adaptable to special education learning disabled students as well.
